Hours: 37 per week (Tuesday–Friday, 6:30am–4:15pm)
Pay Rate: £14.13 per hour
North Lincolnshire Council is seeking Waste Operatives (Drivers) to join the Waste Services team. This is a frontline role serving the community by undertaking duties connected with the removal and disposal of household and commercial waste and recycling.
Key Responsibilities:
- To deliver and recover bin containers to domestic and commercial premises within North Lincolnshire.
- Follow a delivery route on a digital device to confirm completion of jobs
- Predominantly driving large refuse collection vehicles (HGV Class C licence required)
- Operating bin lifting equipment and safely manoeuvring refuse containers
- Supervising a small team of loaders
- Providing advice to customers on waste and recycling
- Updating in-cab technology and maintaining accurate records
Requirements:
- HGV Class 2 licence with Driver CPC training
- Digital tachograph holder
- Experience in waste collection or similar environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Dress Code: Safety shoes, high viz jacket, ballistic trousers
