Overall Purpose of Job
This role is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Arc team to provide excellent customer service at both the reception desk and the café, as well as helping to deliver a range of projects and services for tenants and people in our local communities.
Main Responsibilities
The apprentice will:
Work on the front reception desk, learning how to deliver excellent customer service; dealing with a range of customers on a daily basis, answering queries and offering information that involves a lot of interaction with the general public (as well as with colleagues) in a variety of methods including face-to-face, over the phone and via email, handling anything from general enquiries to complaints.Assist in the marketing and delivery of services and activities, working as part of a team to deliver a consistent, high quality service, carrying out a range of administrative tasks to support the team.
To be involved in menu planning, food preparation and cooking, and serving customers.
To assist in preparation of buffets for the Arc and outside catering customers
To ensure the kitchen, serving area and public cafe are kept clean and tidy at all times to meet Environmental health standards including washing, clearing and cleaning and using the dishwasher
To support compliance with current regulations relating to Health and Safety at Work, Food Handling and Hygiene Regulations
To handle cash and card payments and use an EPOS till system
Complete a Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship
To complete mandatory Food Hygiene trainingUndertake other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grading of the post as considered appropriate
Wider Arc team
All members of staff at the Arc are expected to work as part of the wider team that includes
Delivering excellent reception and customer service across the whole building
Maintaining a clean, safe environment for the public
Clearing and tidying all areas e.g. rest area in the enterprise zone, cafe tables, meeting and activity rooms
Maintaining a high standard of personal presentation, hygiene and smart uniform where provided
Checking toilets on a rota basis
Supporting volunteers
Knowledge, Skill & Experience Required
Essential
Previous experience in a customer service environment
Keen interest in working with people in our communities
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to type accurately
Interest in social media advertising
Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent customer service skills
An ability to engage with the publicAble to use own initiative
Good team worker
Ability to take part in Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship training
Willingness to complete Food Hygiene training
