Job Summary
The Asset Intelligence Apprentice will support the Assets & Sustainability Team in delivering a high-quality, data-driven asset management service by assisting with the collection, maintenance, validation and analysis of property, compliance, sustainability and customer information.
Working closely with the Asset Intelligence Manager, Asset Intelligence Officer and Assets Engagement & Information Officer, the postholder will help ensure asset records are accurate, systems are maintained, reporting information is reliable, and data backlogs are reduced.
The role will provide practical experience in asset management systems, performance reporting, customer engagement, compliance monitoring and sustainability initiatives, enabling the apprentice to develop the technical knowledge, analytical skills and professional behaviours required to complete a Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship and progress towards a future career within Asset Intelligence and Housing Asset Management.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain and update asset management data across organisational systems, ensuring property, compliance, servicing, energy and component records are accurate, complete and up to date.
- Process and validate incoming asset information, including stock condition surveys, asbestos data, compliance certificates, contractor documentation and property records, ensuring information is correctly stored and categorised.
- Undertake routine data quality checks and audits, identifying missing, duplicate or inaccurate records and supporting corrective actions to improve data integrity.
- Support the production of performance reports, dashboards and KPI information, helping the team monitor compliance, asset performance and service delivery.
- Assist with the administration and development of asset intelligence systems, including updating records, maintaining document libraries, supporting testing activities and learning system processes.
- Coordinate and support property survey programmes, including arranging appointments, maintaining survey records, tracking completion rates and ensuring data is uploaded promptly.
- Support customer communication and engagement activities, maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and assisting in the production of letters, surveys and information relating to asset management programmes.
- Assist with compliance and building safety data management, helping to maintain accurate records relating to statutory inspections, servicing programmes and regulatory requirements.
- Support sustainability and energy performance initiatives by collecting, updating and analysing data relating to EPCs, retrofit programmes, carbon reduction and energy efficiency improvements.
- Complete the Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship programme, applying learning in the workplace, developing analytical and technical skills, and contributing to continuous improvement across the Asset Intelligence service.
Skills, Competence and Experience Required
Essential
- Good IT literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and data.
- Ability to collect, enter, organise and manage information in a structured and methodical manner.
- Good numerical and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, anomalies and inconsistencies in data.
