Are you looking for flexible work in a rewarding environment where you can make a real difference? We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistants to join our bank team in Winterton.
Working within a welcoming care and community setting, you'll help prepare and serve meals, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and contribute to a positive experience for residents, visitors and café customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, snacks and refreshments
- Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining environment
- Support stock rotation, temperature checks and food safety procedures
- Handle cash transactions and provide excellent customer service
- Ensure all equipment is used and stored safely
- Work as part of a friendly team to deliver a high-quality catering service
What We're Looking For
- Previous catering, kitchen or food service experience is desirable
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A flexible and dependable approach to work
- Understanding of customer service and food hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- An Enhanced DBS check issued within the last 12 months, or registration on the DBS Update Service
- Applicants must be willing to undertake a new Enhanced DBS check if required
Essential Knowledge & Awareness
Applicants should have knowledge of, or be willing to undertake training in:
- Food Hygiene and Food Safety Regulations
- Health & Safety procedures within a catering environment
- COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
- Safe use and storage of kitchen equipment and cleaning materials
- Manual handling and safe working practices
- Understanding of dietary requirements and special nutrition needs
- Maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards
