Position Summary

On behalf of our client we are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Accountant to join their growing team. The position involves working with sales, customer service, and manufacturing to ensure the database captures costs from all facets of the business (e.g. freight, material, labour, overhead, etc.) to align the quoting modules with the transactional modules (i.e. income statement). There is a need for excellent communication, high attention to detail, and strong analytical skills. As this is a multi-site position, the work location depends on the applicant – you must be able to travel internationally as required. The role offers hybrid working.


Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Ensure costing models accurately reflect material, labour, and overhead absorption at the manufacturing level, in a continued effort to align the costing module with the company's income statements.
  • Gauge the company's overall financial health, while directing and providing insight to the company's financial planning, budgeting, cash flow and other financial related matters.
  • Responsible for continuous monitoring and implementation of measures to achieve DIO targets.
  • Track weekly labour costs to optimize resource allocation.
  • Identification and implementation of cost-saving opportunities in various areas.
  • Manage initial FIFO costing for raw materials in each plant's respective database.
  • Manage and monitor the database's quoting and transactional costing structure on a continued basis.
  • Manage, facilitate, and/or audit monthly physical inventories and responsible for the stock valuation.
  • Compile, analyse, and distribute monthly manufacturing reports for the manufacturing facility.


Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Finance.
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to present complex data in an understandable form.
  • Solid working knowledge in accounting processes.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership and staff.
  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
  • Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel to company's other manufacturing facilities around Europe.


Work Environment


Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection as required.

This role operates in a professional office environment that may have some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employees are rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area.
