Customer Service Apprentice

Job Summary

Our local client is seeking a motivated Customer Service Apprentice to join their office-based team in Scunthorpe. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience while working towards a Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship qualification.

Job Type: Full-time
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 (30-minute unpaid break)

The role is central to the business as it represents the first point of contact for customers. Working alongside colleagues in Sales, Transport, and Operations, the apprentice will help ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services while providing a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders via telephone, email, and other communication channels to address enquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Take bookings, respond to customer queries, and escalate issues where necessary
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of customer information into internal systems
  • Work collaboratively as part of the team to deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues effectively
  • Support general administrative tasks as required, such as filing, data entry, and document handling
  • Assist with other reasonable duties as needed to support the team and business operations

Skills, Qualities & Experience Required

  • A keen interest in developing a career in customer service and business administration
  • Resilient, adaptable, and motivated to learn new skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • IT literate and comfortable using office software
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role is beneficial but not essential
