Temporary to Permanent | £12.21 per hour
Location: Scotter (with occasional cover in Kirton)
Are you friendly, organised, and passionate about supporting patients? We’re looking for a Medical Receptionist to join a busy, welcoming medical practice. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity for the right candidate, offering a rewarding role at the heart of patient care within a supportive clinical team.
Working Hours
This role can be offered as one full-time post (37.5 hours) or two part-time posts.
Full-Time Pattern (37.5 hours)
- Monday: 1:30pm – 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 8:00am – 12:30pm & 1:30pm – 5:30pm
- Wednesday: 8:00am – 1:00pm & 1:30pm – 6:30pm
- Thursday: 8:00am – 1:00pm & 1:30pm – 5:30pm
- Friday: 1:30pm – 6:30pm
Part-Time Split Option
- Post 1 (18.5 hours): Monday afternoon, Tuesday all day, Friday afternoon
- Post 2 (19 hours): Wednesday all day, Thursday all day
Role Overview
As the first point of contact for patients, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice. You’ll manage the reception area, support clinical staff, and help patients access the care they need with professionalism and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
- Process appointment requests via phone, in person, and online
- Answer and direct calls promptly and professionally
- Signpost patients to the correct services
- Act as a communication link between patients, clinicians, and external providers
- Provide general administrative support to the wider team
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
- Friendly, approachable, and patient-focused attitude
- Flexibility to occasionally travel to Kirton
- Availability to start immediately
