About this role

Working within a small multi-disciplined team controlling various projects at any one time ensuring optimum profits are achieved from each contract. To anticipate and respond to client needs to ensure we offer an exceptional service. The role requires a high degree of flexibility and initiative in order to make sure that customers, both internal and external, receive the highest level of customer experience and that the many and varied demands of the post are prioritised and dealt with efficiently.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Validate proposal and material specifics against project requirements.
  • Compile contract specific risk assessments and method statements.
  • Compile programme of works as and where required.
  • Ensure accurate working drawings are compiled and dispatched to client.
  • Engage with all internal stakeholders required for project execution and delivery.
  • Deal with contract variations via adherence to full change control process.
  • Monitor contract costs and escalate variations.
  • Ensure all relevant certification is compiled and supplied to client.
  • Ensure all installation drawings are accurately compiled and dispatched to client.
  • In conjunction with the client, formulate and populate the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) requirements.
  • Work within the boundaries of all contractual financial liabilities to mitigate charges being imposed.
  • Attend meetings with the customer and take a proactive role in managing day to day issues arising from the project design and build.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within the required deadline for completion whilst meeting quality, time budget and safety objectives.
  • To provide the highest level of expertise. To escalate technical issues of a more complex or serious nature.
  • To be responsible for completing lessons learned to identify and introduce improvements to working processes.
  • To carry out organisational and administrative tasks for project deployment, ensuring that the customers’ needs are met in respect of the supply and installation of materials.
  • To maintain effective systems for controlling Project information.
  • To ensure relevant and regular communications with the Customer and internal stakeholders is maintained.
  • Ensure that project progress is recorded.
  • Plan and organise schedules for the various Projects ongoing at any one time in liaison with the customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure that control over all relevant information and documentation is maintained by means of electronic filing and organisation, such that it is always readily accessible.
  • Maintain compliance with the Company procedures and Quality requirements both in the office and on site.
  • Monitor progress and costs involved in ongoing Projects.
  • Where applicable, work within the boundaries of ATEX certification.
  • Creation of Method Statements and Risk Assessments and ensure that these are filed correctly, kept up to date and made available when required
  • Ensure Health & Safety of self and staff at all times through training and regular communication of relevant procedures
  • Develop and maintain working relationships across the company to allow effective team working
  • Carry out any task or assignment linked to this position as directed by senior members of the team.

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience in a project role preferably in an international environment.
  • Relevant project delivery experience in a manufacturing and/or project based environment.
  • Excellent commercial, planning, scheduling, written and communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Experience of a mechanical / electronics engineering business and associated challenges.
  • Proficient with ERP systems.
  • Proven experience of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management inclusive of techniques and tools.
  • Graduate level or equivalent, preferably with a Project Management qualification.
  • Ideally team management experience.
  • For UK travel, a full, clean valid driving license is also required.
