Overall Purpose of the Role:
The engineering team are responsible for the maintenance and repair of Production machinery, AD process equipment, water treatment plant, buildings and site civils. They are also charged with monitoring the performance of the AD process by interpreting data from SCADA e.g., methane/H2S content, tank foaming etc and taking the necessary action. The individual working within the team of engineers need to ensure:
- Adherence to safe working practices
- Timely response to breakdowns
- High quality of maintenance and repair
- A proactive approach to improving machinery efficiency and effectiveness
- Out of hours engineering support (that include weekends) is detailed in the call-out rota
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Adhere to the Site Health & Safety policy in all work activities
- Completing Planned Maintenance tasks and recording of corrective actions on the computer-based Maintenance system
- Ensuring that time keeping, and punctuality is maintained at an acceptable level.
- Reaction to breakdowns ensuring quickest possible response and rectification
- Organisation of maintenance and improvement works
- Ensure all breakdowns are recorded along with the time and type
- Ensure stock levels are maintained to a reasonable economic level, ensuring common failure parts are available by identifying parts required and upcoming issues are identified to the Engineering Leader
- Supervise contractors ensuring safe systems of work are followed
- Responsible for Pump repairs / refurbishment and any new installations and fabrications work
- Completion of timely, accurate paperwork
- Assistance with project work with Engineering Manager

Requirements
Essential
Relevant Engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical) and/or Experienced time served Engineer
Ability to read and interpret all Engineering Drawings
Development and Implementation of Safe Welding ability Systems of Work
Experienced in using Maintenance Management System
Directing and supervising of Contractors
Desirable
Math A level or Equivalent
English A level or Equivalent
Physics A Level or Equivalent
WAMITAB qualified
SAP qualified
Food industry experience
Working knowledge of Steam Systems
Practical engineering experience on AD plant
IOSH
Working knowledge of:
- Pneumatic systems
- Water treatment systems
- PUWER
- Electricity at work Regs
